In an effort to create the safest, most fun environment possible for what has become a very "pleasing pack of pups," Jennifer and I have made some final decisions.  A lot of you have heard the rumors of our desire to "take over" the unit next door to us.  Well this doesn't look like it is going to happen.  Therefore we have decided to remodel the unit we are in.  As our popularity has grown (thanks to all of you!)  Our number of daycare dogs has also grown.  Although we have huge dreams and will one day achieve them, we realize we have to take baby steps to get there.  So upon evaluating where we are now and what we want to focus on, we have decided to increase the size of our existing daycare and create a safer, more efficient area for the dogs we have grown to love and make room for more to join us.

In order for this expansion to happen, we have to make a couple of sacrifices.  For starters we will be eliminating one of our tub areas.  Second, we will be cutting way back on our professional grooming services.  This will actually benefit our daycare clients as we will be freeing up more time to offer baths and nail trims, and be more available to those clients needing to be clipped.  This will also free up both Jennifer and my time to be more hands on with the daycare needs at the same time.  Third, the remodel will consist of building an eight foot tall wall in front of all the daycare.  We struggled a little with this decision because creating this wall will cut down on your viewing of the dogs significantly.  We know how much this is enjoyed by all and we love for everybody to see their dogs interacting.  However, since safety is in our thoughts at all times, the decision to build the wall was based on the safety of the dogs.  As our enrollment grows we are more at risk for over-stimulation and potential spats.  In order to maintain a calm environment, the dogs shouldn't be aware of a "stranger's" presence in their territory.  We will have viewing windows and soon will install a camera so their activities can be viewed on a TV screen.  You will get a better sense of their playing this way because they won't be focused on you, the visitor.  Lastly, we have decided to hold "summer" hours on Saturdays.  We will be closed on Saturdays May through August.  The last Saturday in April will be our last Saturday open until the first Saturday in September.  I would like very much to hear any feedback on this decision from anyone.

Jennifer and I enjoy the dogs so much, we feel that making these improvements will allow us to maximize our quality time with your pets rather than simply "managing" them as we feel we are doing now.  Once again, we want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and generosity.  Never did I imagine when I put my dream into motion that I would gain so many new friends.  We have also watched friendships grow between some of you and this is a big part of what makes our hard work so rewarding.  As always, your opinions and input are invaluable.  We would love to hear and would appreciate any feedback at any time.

Happy Spring!!!
